After purchasing a new hair light, my mom, Ricki Douglas, a San Diego Photographer, asked me to model for her new hair light. I thought, what the heck, I am all dressed up and have nowhere to go. Even though I run about 40 mph, I am very calm in the house, so sitting still was easy for me. And lucky for her, I am a “one-take” wonder. Besides, I got to sit on top of the coffee table with my favorite pad — something I never get to do.
I love living in San Diego, so if you other doggies can talk your owners into vacationing in San Diego, I highly recommend it. We have a over a dozen dog parks and 5 of them are at beaches. Even though Whippets don’t normally like to swim, one of my favorite past-times is chasing the Frisbee into the ocean although I get cold pretty easy not having much fat to keep me warm. I also love going to Lincoln Middle School in Oceanside, CA which is about 5 acres of a fenced-in school where I get to play with other dogs….I nip at their ear trying to get them to chase me. It’s kind of pointless though because they easily find out they never can catch me!
I don’t want to brag or anything but my mom says I am her angel: polite, lightening fast, patient, intelligent, loving, social, and her best friend. Well, okay, one of her best friends….She also says I am so well-trained that she could walk across a freeway with me off leash all the way to Minnesota. She’s yet to try it though!
So if you are thinking of visiting in San Diego, call her for a photo while you’re here as she loves taking family photos with their pets. And don’t forget to check out DogVacay, a wonderful website that offers boarding, training, pet friendly hotels and dog sitters in the US among other things. Oh, and if you do visit, give me a call and let’s have a race!
