“Adrienne Serbaoli ’07 Combats Sexual Assault in the Marine Corps” – by Mary Grady
“Adi” pursued a law degree at Roger Williams and when the University decided to write an article on their graduate, I was asked to photograph her in the courtroom at Camp Pendleton. I have always enjoyed taking other military portraits but this was a opportunity for me to be a part of history in the making. Adi was extremely friendly, intelligent, and charming, but the fire in her eyes which showed the passion for her work and her country made me realize why she is among the few chosen for this position and not someone to be taken lightly inside the courtroom or out of it. I felt honored to have spent my morning with this incredible woman who is serving our country.
“Adi” Serbaoli is one of only 15 Marine lawyers from around the country who were recently handpicked to join the newly formed Marine Corps Victim Counsel Organization, which launched on November 1, and became fully operational on January 1. The program provides experienced Marine lawyers to advise and represent victims in sexual assault cases. — by Mary Grady.
